Our fosters are an integral part of our rescue and help us forward our mission to save the abandoned, abused, and neglected dogs of Western North Carolina. We often have opportunities to foster puppies and adult dogs that are just not doing well in the rescue environment. Fostering is a big responsibility and a necessary job! We need our fosters to bring dogs to vet appointments when needed, transport puppies to get their vaccines and bring them to their spay/neuter appointment, and assist with crate, house training and teach them basic commands. Additionally, fosters should check in periodically with photos of growing puppies and bring their foster dogs to adoption events. It's wonderful work.
Many times we have an adult dog that was surrendered and not doing well at our loud and busy rescue, or an adult dog that is heartworm positive and needs a quiet place to receive treatment. If you prefer an adult dog or are comfortable giving a dog treatments medicine daily, we would love for you to foster with us. In every case, we provide everything you will need to foster.
COMMUNICATION is KEY in rescue and it's IMPERATIVE that fosters keep in contact with us with updates and photos of the dogs. This is the BEST WAY to help them get adopted into forever homes. Please check your email regularly!
Fostering is a profound act of caring, and we COULD NOT continue our rescue efforts without our incredible fosters! We cover all costs, leaving you to provide the love.
